GAME RESULTS

Congratulations to the U15 girls for a season of amazing determination and great team work. After previously ending in second place twice, we knew that we had the chance to end the reign of Hackensack, who for many years had been the champion. It was a great season, and in our last and most important game, all the players truly rose to the occasion, never gave up, and brought the championship home to Hoboken where it belongs. Thank you to everyone who came and supported us on that day, and thank you also to those who were always helping us along the way. We could not have done it without all of you.

Hoboken, 2 Nasa, 0 6/3/06

For the 3rd time in a row, Hoboken has won and amazed the audience all together in one glorious sweep! This time the referee was a woman, and she did her job well. In the first half our wondrous kicker, Roxanne Uchino, made a beautiful goal right by the 18-yard line. In the second half, Jessica our splendid new player made another goal towards the right of the 18-yard line. This time our team (Hoboken) only had 3 shots on goal 1st half, and around 5 at the second. We were all glad to see Jodi again, our kind assistant coach.

Out of 6 teams we are in 2nd place,  and we need you there to get to first!

The tying goal was well placed shot made by Andrea Erichsen with an assist by Keating. Alexi Yost also had a nice shot on goal early in the game. Goalie Emma Pizzuta made some great saves while our relentless defenders Lulu Heras, Lucy Wagner and Caroline Groce fought hard to stop Belleville's chief striker. In this game Morgan Steadwell, Rebecca Enright-Schur and Alexa Colangelo showed some of the best carrying, passing and dribbling we have seen all season. The girls celebrated the win by dousing their coach, Oscar Ascencio, with water and Gateraid.

Lodi 0, Hoboken 1

Hoboken U10 girls won a hard fought game against Lodi, 0-1. All the girls played aggressive defense against a hard charging Lodi offense. Morgan Steadwell energized the Hoboken offense with excellent passing, corner kicks and steals. Alexa Colangelo carried the ball remarkably well. The single goal was made by Cara Keating who played one of her best games this season.

Hoboken 3, Ridgefield 1

STATE CUP GAME - U15 BOYS

                                          Hoboken 0, Thistle 5

The U15 boys played Karney Thistle in the State Cup tournament this past weekend.  Thistle is one of the top flight teams in the state, sporting some of the best players in northern NJ.  After a nervously shaky start from our local boys, Thistle took a 2 -0 lead.   We settled down and played Karney well throughout the rest of the game. Althought Thistle mantained the momentum of the game with exceptional passing and ball control skills, our local boys mounted some great counter attacks and some great shots on goal.  One goal was nullified by a controversial offside call.  Our players played great and showed the Hoboken attitude of never quit.

Hoboken 1, Belleville 0

The U10 girls took their fourth win in an exciting game against the Belleville Bratz. Samantha Kluepful scored early in the game putting Hoboken ahead. Although Belleville tired hard, they remained scoreless due to excellent defensive play by Laura Heras, Lucy Wagner, Andrea Erichsen, and Morgan Steadwell. Several times goalie Emma Pizzuta made critical saves bringing the crowd to their feet. It was one to remember!

Hoboken had 20 shots on goal beating their last game record of 11. Nasa had 9 shots. The goalie for Nasa was really out there saving 18 shots! It was an exciting game and we expect the next to be one too!
